Cristian Solé is currently an associate professor at the Polytechnic School of the University of Lleida (UdL), where he has taught since 2007. He graduated in Technical Industrial Engineering, major in Mechanical Engineering, at the UdL, and in Industrial Engineering, major in Electromechanical at the Technical University of Catalonia. He obtained the PhD in Industrial Engineering at the University of Lleida in 2009. During the years of the doctoral thesis, Dr. Solé participated in numerous smaller projects to obtain funding for the completion of the doctoral thesis and working on different issues such as energy efficiency and renewable energies, both for industrial applications as well as for the domestic sector. In 2007 he obtained a position as a collaborator at the University of Lleida, where he combined teaching in a totally new bachelor degree with research until 2011. Initially he was the coordinator of the Industrial Engineering Master and was soon promoted to Deputy Director of International Relations and Business.Marc Medrano is Associate Professor at the Engineering School (EPS) of the University of Lleida. After his PhD in 2001 he was awarded a Postdoctoral Fellowship to spend three years at the University of California, Irvine in the Advanced Power and Energy Program (www.apep.uci.edu) to conduct research in building integration of advanced distributed power systems and in air quality impacts of distributed generation. In 2005 he was awarded a Ramon y Cajal research fellowship. His research interests include advanced thermal systems, absorption cooling, energy efficiency and optimization in buildings and industry, thermal energy storage, life cycle analysis and environmental impacts, and teaching innovation. At present Dr. Medrano is teaching in the Mechanical Enginnering Degree and in the Industrial Master. Since previous academic year 2014-15, he has delivered all his subjects in English.
