The Multilingual University promotes the idea of linguistic diversity as resource not problem in Anglophone higher educational settings and in English-medium instructional contexts in universities located elsewhere. We view higher education in these contexts as a site of multilingualism in which English co-habits with other languages. We aim to:
- develop plurilingual pedagogies and approaches to research
- embed language-as-resource perspectives in institutional policies and practices
- encourage higher education institutions to advocate linguistic and cultural diversity as a benefit for society and a matter of social justice
